Product Description
The standing model is a recreation of the Ilyushin II-2 fighter aircraft, which was the representative ground attack aircraft of the Russian military during the Second World War. By the end of the war, over 36,000 copies of the model were built, making it the most produced military aircraft in aviation history. The aircraft is characterised by its armour, which not only protects the cockpit, but also the engine and the fuel tank. Production of the single-seat version of the II-2 began in March 1942, but heavy losses led to the development of a two-seat version with a rear shooter. The II-2 contributed significantly to the Russian victory over the German armed forces.
