A special blend with extra large bark pieces & Biovol lava rocks. Giving the maximum amount of oxygen & drainage – great open structure for larger plants. In nature many orchids grow in and around the branches of trees, not directly in the soil, as such they like a substrate that is airy! This is a specialist course potting mix for mature orchid plants with maximum particle size. It allows more precise control of moisture & humidity, being more free draining but still able to anchor the roots well. 
Specially formulated for long term health of Epiphyte orchids. This mix includes the addition of lava rock giving excellent drainage and root ventilation.  
Main Components: Premium Pine Bark – High quality, super coarse pine chips to allow for ventilation and prevent compaction – steam sterilized ensuring no external pathogens. 70% FSC Mix & Soil Association approved. Biovol Lava Rocks – Open poured and lightweight volcanic stones  – wont decompose, retain nutrients, help excess water drain away, PH neutral. Open pores for secure root hold.  
This open mixture will help prevent over watering and soggy roots which can lead to rotting. Provides beneficial dry periods between watering. Also excellent medium for for Bromeliads and other epiphytes. Grade approx 10-35mm – our largest particle orchid bark product. Made in the UK
