Wire Rope – For most nets, 2mm diameter wire rope is used, though other sizes are available for very large or very small nets. 3mm diameter wire cannot be crimped – you need to use 3mm wire rope grips. For flexibility, the 7/7 (49 strand) type is advised. This wire is available in galvanised steel, though it is advised that 316 grade stainless steel be used in corrosion-resisting systems.
