The Zalman X3 is designed for air cooling due to its compact dimensions, but can also be equipped with full water cooling. Three 120mm fans with digitally addressable RGB lighting are pre-installed at the factory. Another fan of the same type is located in the rear of the chassis. Two 120 or 140mm fans can be attached to the top. Alternatively, a 140mm fan can be attached to the rear chassis and two 140mm fans instead of the three 120mm fans on the front panel. This allows a total of six 120mm or five 140mm fans to be installed into the X3. The Zalman X3 can accommodate 175mm high CPU coolers. The integrated RGB controller enables the connection of up to six fans including a 3-pin RGB signal cable (5V) and the two RGB strips integrated in the cover. A dedicated button on the front panel allows you to control the lighting effects. Alternatively, the controller can be connected to the 3-pin header of a compatible mainboard in order to control the digitally addressable RGB accessories via software.
