Spirals are vital to protect young, freshly planted hedging plants and sapling trees. Even if you live in a very sheltered area, young hedging plants and tree saplings are best protected by a spiral and supported by a cane while they establish. If you have rabbits or deer in your area, your plants will need a spiral guard to prevent them being eaten. The spiral guard goes around both the plant and the cane, being supported by the cane at the same time. Spiral guards are effective against rabbits, vermin and deer nibbling through the trunks of young trees. A row of young hedge plants is like a set dinner for your local wild animals! Please note that spirals do not offer support by themselves – they need a cane for support unless the plant is already staked or well established. The canes are NOT included in this pack.
