What is VCI ?
VCI stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. It can volatilize into a gas that inhibits corrosion at room temperature of a metal object and forms a protective molecular layer on the metal surface. The protective film layer prevents moisture, oxygen and other gases from contacting the metal surface and inhibits electrochemical reactions that cause metal corrosion, thus achieving the purpose of rust prevention.
How to use a VCI bag:
1. Insert only clean and dry metal objects.
2. Always wear clean and dry gloves when handling metal parts to protect them from corrosion caused by fingerprints.
3. The temperature of the metal objects inserted should be about the same as room temperature to avoid condensed moisture.
4. Tightly close bags with a zip, tape or heat seal. Reseal after every use.
5. Do not use oil coating on the metal objects inserted in the VCI bags. Oil coatings can prevent the VCI vapor from coming in contact with the metal surface to form the protective molecular layer.
How to store unused VCI bags:
Store unused VCI bags in their original shipping package at room temperature. Avoid sunlight or room lighting. Keep the original shipping package closed to avoid dust or dirt, and keep the package away from the moisture.
