One of the major reasons for chlorine loss from swimming pools is that it is drawn out of the pool by UV rays of the sun. Therefore, a stabiliser is added to reduce chlorine loss by sunlight in outdoor swimming pools.
Blue Horizons Stabiliser Tablets should be added to pool water on first fill, or on emptying and refilling, or when substantial fresh water has been added after backwashing or heavy rainfall. The ideal level is 30-60mg/l, if the level in your pool is less than this use Chlorine Stabiliser/Conditioner to increase it.

If you are unable to test for stabiliser (cyanuric acid) in your pool water, you should bring a water sample to us where we can test this for you.
As an indication, 1 tablet will increase the stabiliser level by 10mg/l in 5,000 gallons of water (22,700 litres).
