GHS is the new Globally Harmonized System of classification and labelling of chemicals. GHS came into effect in January 2009 and will replace the current CHIP regulation by June 2015, gradually phasing out the existing orange and black CHIP labels. The aim of the GHS regulation is to create a worldwide recognizable system of chemical classification and labelling.
