After the end of each breeding season, all nest boxes should be taken down and the old nesting materials removed, clean with boiling water to remove any parasites.
Location – fix to a tree or wall. The height above ground is not critical – just make sure the house is out of reach of inquisitive humans and curious cats. It is best to mount a box facing somewhere between south-east and north, this will avoid strong direct sunlight.
