Move Up a Notch with the New Django Capo Clamp
Capos (capodastro, or capotasto) are essential tools for guitar players to raise the pitch or change key, enabling ‘open’ fingerings to be used. In effect, the capo becomes a new top nut further up the instrument neck.
For twelve-string guitar players, capos are a great way to offset the added stress caused by the additional strings, simply by tuning a whole step below standard.
The new Django capo means changing keys couldn’t be easier to use.
The trigger-style quick-release capo clamp can be operated by one hand in one single squeezing motion. It has two bars: a silicone rubber-covered bar to barre the strings, and another that presses against the back of the instrument neck to hold the first bar to the strings.
The second bar is curved to match the contour of the back of the neck. The two aircraft-grade alloy bars attach on a pivot at one end, and a memory steel spring presses them together with the correct amount of pressure.
Django capos employ an extra thick layer of silicone rubber to provide consistency across all strings, eliminating fret buzz as well as providing protection from scratching the instrument.
The capo can be clamped to either the treble or bass side of the instrument, depending on the player’s preference. It can also be clipped to the headstock when not in use.
In addition, the new Django capo conveniently incorporates a peg or pin remover into one end of the clamp, eliminating the need of using pliers for the next string change.
