The Dolphin Van Parking Sensor kit comes with 4 recess mounting sensors. This Van parking sensor kit features longer 6m cables to enable easy installation on to the widest of vehicles and a longer 4m power lead to enable an easier installation. Included with the 4 recess sensors is an audio buzzer which beeps with increased frequency the closer you get to an obstacle. Detection range starts at 1.5m and gets you to 30cm at which point you get a continuous tone to alert you to stop. The buzzer is nice and loud and can be discreetly mounted somewhere suitable at the rear of the vehicle. How it works The system works by radiating ultrasonic beams throughout the area behind the vehicle. The beams are then reflected by obstructions behind the vehicle, and re-enter the sensors. The control box uses the reflected beam information to calculate the distance of the obstruction. As with the other systems the Dolphin unit is activated when reverse gear is engaged. As the vehicle is reversing. When the vehicle is less than 1.5 metres from the obstruction the audible alert will emit intermittent bleeps. As the vehicle gets closer to the obstruction the frequency of the bleeps increases. At 30 centimetres from the obstruction the bleeps become a continuous solid tone.
