Tastevin Sommelier – Wine taster in stainless steel complete with Reggicollo chain – by Euposia – Made in Italy – The Tastevin today represents an object symbol of the sommelier. It was already adopted in France in the 17th century by the bourgeois families and spread quickly between the 19th and 20th centuries. The Borgognone model (proposed in this package) equipped with a grip ring, inside it has a large central bubble called “level bubble” which must never be exceeded by the wine that is poured to you. Around this central bubble there are a set of 14 small embossed pearls that have the function, shaking the tastevin, to oxygenate the wine poured faster. On the left side of the handle there are a number of 8 recessed beads that are concave and serve for visual examination of red wines, known to be less transparent. On the right side there are 17 hollow ribs which highlight the colour and clarity of white wines. The tastevin is worn on the neck by means of a chain. To use it open the carabiner and detach it from the chain. To assess white wines grip with the left hand and pour the wine with the right. On the contrary, to look at a red you pour the wine with the left and grip the handle on the finger rest using the right hand. The tastevin should not be wet with water and should be dried after each use with a clean odour free cloth to prevent mould formation.
