EuroSchirm swing handsfree umbrella

The EuroSchirm Swing Handsfree from Eberhard Goebel can be easily attached to any standard backpack with hip belt and aligned depending on the wind direction. Alternatively, the umbrella can also be attached to a special carrying strap system from EuroSchirm (see page 31/32). Both hands remain free – ideal for hikers who do not want to miss the use of trekking poles even when it rains, but also for nature photographers, when using the GPS or when studying the hiking map. Also as a protective rain and sunroof for toddlers who “walk” in the back carrier, it does an excellent job. A special feature of the special umbrella is its telescopic fibreglass shaft, which can be extended continuously up to a length of about one meter and fixed with a small turning movement in any height position. The umbrella can be positioned to the left or right depending on the wind direction using two rotatable retaining clips that are fastened to the two straps of the backpack with a nylon Velcro strip on the front. The elastic strap on the umbrella grip serves as a flexible fixation on the hip belt. The 366 g light umbrella can also be used as a normal walking umbrella. Greatest comfort is provided by the pleasantly velvety handle made of hand-held high-density rigid foam. With a diameter of 114 cm, it is in any case large enough to protect hikers and backpack equally well and reliably. Material selection and workmanship are tailored to the special demands of hiking and the high demands of hikers on their equipment. A very light and tear-resistant polyester fabric with Teflon® treatment is used for the umbrella. The entire umbrella frame consists of an elastic and extremely unbreakable glass fibre material. The frame is almost completely free of metal and therefore corrosion resistant.
