Performance for all older Mac models is limited at 1500MB/s Read and 1500MB/s Write due to PCIe 2.0 wiring only on the logic board. This is not a limitation of the SSD, it is a limitation of the Mac logic board PCIe slot wiring. Only PCIe 2.0 speed 4x lanes and PCIe 3.0 speed 4x lanes enabled Macs can utilise higher speed up to 3000MB/s. For example, MacBook Pro 2015 15-inch and 13-inch and newer can operate up to 2800MB/s Read and 1600MB/s Write at PCIe x 4 lanes.
