Green Lipped Mussel, also known as a New Zealand Mussel, differs from other mussel species with its unusual colours: usually brown/green shell with a green ‘lip’ around it edges. It is one of the largest species of mussels – it can reach 240 mm in length.
These mussels have been used as food by native Maori people for centuries. They are known for their anti-inflammatory properties as they are rich in Glycoproteins. They also contain Omega-3 fatty acids: EPA and DHA, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
There have been some studies and clinical trials about potential use of Green Lipped Mussels for easing joint pain and reducing inflammation, however none have been conclusive. As a supplement it is quite safe to use so: worth a try, maybe?
Our capsules can be used to ease joint pain in humans but you can give them to your dog too: try to start with half capsule a day, sprinkled over their food and, if needed increase the dose gradually.
Green Lipped Mussels are sourced from some of the worlds cleanest and purest waters of New Zealand. The mussels are pressure-extracted from their shells so they do not lose their nutritional and health benefits during processing. We have added Vitamin C – it complements the mussels as it contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones and cartilage. One pack provides supply for up to 3 months.

Directions
Adults, take 1-2 capsules daily with water and food.
