If the washing machine strap has been burnt, the the extremes of the strap will curve slightly inwards and the internal groove has been lowered. To avoid the strap breaking for this reason, avoid overcharging the washing machine or washing shoes / sports shoes. This avoids the drum from blocking whilst the motor pole rotates and the strap burns.
