Immanuel Kant (1724 – 1804) was a German philosopher of the reconnaissance. Kant is one of the most important representatives of the evening philosophy. His work Criticism of pure reason marks a turning point in philosophy history and the beginning of modern philosophy.
Kant created a new, comprehensive perspective in philosophy, which significantly influences the discussion until the 21st century. This includes not only its influence on the theory of recognition with the criticism of pure reason, but also on ethics with the criticism of practical reason and aesthetics with the criticism of judgement. Kant also written significant fonts on religion, law and history philosophy as well as contributions to astronomy and geosciences.
For many years, the potsdamer artist Alex Agwanjan has been lovingly crafting a wide range of sculptures, reliefs and cans from the materials cellan or plaster. It places particular importance to the clean representation of the finest details, which is possible especially through the material cellan.
Zellan is a synthetic, inorganic moulding compound, which has a porcelain like structure when cured. The material is easy to work like plaster, paintable or dye before use and requires no drying or burning to curing. Zellan is about twice as hard as plaster and also much heavier The use of Zellan allows for very high image accuracy and finest detail. The material has a bright porcelain like sound after hardening when tapping. Unlike the light grey plaster, Zellan is pure white.
All objects made from Zellan are lovingly hand-patinated and polished by the artist.
