These Anvil action secateurs have one blade that closes onto a cutting block, like a knife to a chopping board. An anvil cut is more powerful than a bypass cut meaning minimal effort is required. They are therefore ideal for pruning for mature hard and dead wood, they are therefore not recommended for pruning green live wood as this will crush and bruise the stem. The secateurs have a 2 in 1 function; so you can choose between a ratchet action (up to 22mm) or a single cut action (up to 18mm). The ratchet mode allows you to make four short cuts through a branch, making the pruning of thicker branches easier with minimal effort required. Simply cut in four simple steps: squeeze, hear it ‘click’, release and re-apply. The single mode cut allows you to make the cut in one swift action, which is ideal for smaller branches. The secateurs have drop forged, high quality carbon steel non-stick blades for strength and durability and come with a 5 year guarantee. Complete with an oil sponge for aftercare and a safety lock for safe storage, the secateurs also have lightweight aluminium handles with a non-slip grip for added comfort.
