These steel cups do not generate any of their own magnetism, instead, they are designed to be fixed to ferrous or non-magnetic surfaces providing support to an attracting magnet. The magnet sits within the cup and is prevented from sliding by the steel lip. This means that to remove the magnet from the cup takes the full force of the magnetic pull, rather than the slide resistance. These cups are an ideal solution for semi-permanent fixtures. Also available with a full lip design.
