We’ve had our Masterbuilt long enough to know what modifications we want for the unit. It’s great standard, but we think this modification will really expand the potential of an already great cooker. We found our heat manifold getting very dirty from drippings and becoming quite time consuming to clean. So we had a stainless steel cover made for it. – This cover can easily be removed and cleaned in your sink or dishwasher. Being stainless steel it will never rust, it will also reduce the chances of your exiting manifold rusting. But we still recommend you keep the WHOLE inside of your Masterbuilt well seasoned and never clean it with a degreaser. – In addition to the manifold, we also include some legs, which create a flat surface, these allow you to put a standard drip pan over the manifold freeing up your bottom shelf often used for a drip pan. This also means less grease and drippings will find their way into the bottom of your cooker, reducing the chance of grease fires, the main cause of paint peeling. – The edges are also turned upwards to create a guttering system for grease. – The drip pan feet are also removable. These upgrades are a must for all Masterbuilts!
