The Mirka Roundy hand sanding block combines a classic sanding feel with modern dust extraction technology. It is particularly suitable for painting and drywall work. The fine gypsum, wood, and paint dust are effectively removed from the workpiece through the dust extraction, ensuring clear visibility of the work area. Additionally, by preventing dust and dirt, sanding can be carried out in sensitive residential and commercial environments.
The sanding material is securely held in place by the hook and loop fastening on the bottom of the Roundy block. The Roundy block can be used with Ø 150 mm sanding discs. The 35 suction holes on the bottom of the sanding block ensure optimal dust extraction, preventing clogging and build-up. For optimal dust extraction, we recommend using mesh abrasive discs and 15-hole discs with a diameter of 150 mm.
The vacuum valve can be manually adjusted to regulate air for reduced or increased dust extraction. Originally developed for painting and drywall applications, the Roundy block’s side-enclosed disc allows for sanding in hard-to-reach areas. This makes it suitable for various other applications, such as automotive body shops and painting facilities, for sanding seams and edges.
The Roundy hand sanding block is ergonomically shaped. Its flat design and finger indentations provide comfortable and fatigue-free operation, even over extended periods. Sanding becomes enjoyable again and saves time.
The included vacuum hose for hand sanding blocks is 4 meters long and has a diameter of 20 mm. The conical adapter at the end of the hose fits all common industrial vacuum cleaners with a hose opening of 35-58 mm. The vacuum hose is suitable for extracting wood dust, putty dust, and paint dust, among others.
Mirkas unique Abranet mesh abrasive allows for virtually dust-free sanding due to its mesh structure. The numerous holes ensure optimal dust extraction and prolong the lifespan of the abrasive. The Roundy Starter Kit includes Abranet sanding discs in Ø 150 mm and various grits: 5 x P120, 5 x P180, 5 x P240.
