Nike
Bill Bowerman, a former sports trainer at the University of Oregon in Eugene, founded Blue Ribbon Sports company in June 1964, together with Philip Knight. The company first sells sports shoes from the brand Onitsuka Tiger (now: Asics), before she produced themselves under the name Nike shoes in 1971. The sports product manufacturer quickly realized that the success of the Nike brand was closely coupled with sporting successes. Nike has managed to contract the best of a sport and to this day is the largest and most successful sports goods manufacturer.
