To make the perfect tortillas you need to keep the dough as moist as possible and prepare earlier. Open the tortilla maker top cover to preheat cooking plate until the indicator light switches off. Shape the tortilla dough into about a 2 inch ball and flatten in the palm of your hands, then place just rear of the bottom plate. Close lid and using the handle press dough gently, flattening only for a few seconds. Open the lid press again and repeat. Open lid and turn the flatten dough a third clockwise with a non-stick spatula and press again as before. Open again and turn a third and again do as before until the flatten dough has gone all the way around. This will have the right thickness now and you can finally open the plate let cook for about 45seconds to a minute until slightly brown. When finished unplug and let the unit cool before cleaning with a damp cloth and store away.  Never immerse the unit in water.
