regeno Soaps Nutcracker Figurine Husar Blue / White 37 cm – Original Ore Mountains Handmade, Atmospheric Christmas Decoration
This original Ore Mountains nutcracker from Dregeno Seiffen is a symbol of German craftsmanship and brings typical Christmas atmosphere to your home. The Hussar figure is made from German woods and carefully crafted and painted by hand. Hussars are a troop genus of cavalry and have originated in Hungary, Croatia, Romania and Serbia.
The nutcracker (height 37 cm, depth 9.5 cm, width 13 cm) is suitable for all nuts with bowl and impresses with its loving details: the figure is crafted in wood-coloured and bright tones and turned in detail (e.g. blue uniform with golden decorations, white trousers, beard and hair made of grey real fur, black and gold hat) – a classic craftsmanship from the Saxon Lake iffen. The red cheeks give it the typical look of Ore Mountains craftsmanship.
On the bottom there is the symbol of Seiffen wood art: the jumping deer in front of a fir. The “jumping deer” stands to this day for the artisanal perfection and the richness of the wood art from the Ore Mountains.
Production and operation
A nutcracker is a tool for opening nuts or cracking the nut shells. Nutcrackers are often depicted in the Ore Mountains Christmas tradition. These are made of wood and crack the nuts using lever technology in their “mouth”.
To open the nut, the mouth of the figure is opened with a lever at the back, the nut is inserted in and the lever is pressed down – the shell breaks due to the pressure. Warning: small children should only use nutcrackers under supervision due to risk of injury (finger pinching).
Nutcracker History
The often fierce appearance of the nutcrackers is said to satirically represent the obrity of the time (such as gendarms, police officers and hussars). In contrast, the figurative representation of incense smokers was dedicated to the popular village types. These usually represent professions of the region.
