New York veteran Sanchez delivers his first Sessions album, an of-the-moment collection of 29 tastefully selected and smoothly mixed house and garage numbers. CD1 is full of familiar (perhaps over-familiar) moments including this summer’s biggest splurges: Spiller’s Number One hit “Groovejet”; Parisian discokid Bob Sinclar’s “I Feel For You”; and ATFC’s “Bad Habit”. CD2 is the pick of the pair opening with Rui Da Silva’s percussively overcooked “The Four Elements (Earth)” but rapidly hitting its stride with the likes of The Biffters (“Remember”), Scumfrogs (“Learning To Fly”)and Eddie Amador (“Rise”) before concluding with Isollee’s ubiquitous “Beau Mot Plage”. Solid, linear and well constructed–what else would you expect from a former student of architecture? –Mike Pattenden
