The mid-range group brings countless performance features that already mark its “big sister”, the Deore XT, and combines them with excellent value for money, extreme robustness and comprehensive versatility. The result is mountain bike components that allow the right setup for almost every biker. Chainrings with 30, 32 or 34 teeth are available for the elegant single cranks of the new SLX. Single and double cranks can be combined with the 11-40Z or 11-42Z SLX cassettes, providing a wide, optimally graduated bandwidth. In addition, the Hollowtech II cranks are also available as so-called B versions (outboard) that allow a wider external chain line for the Boost standard with 148mm rear hubs. Hollowtech II The development of the Hollowtech II crankset was carried out with regard to optimal and efficient power transmission. Hollowtech technology allows extremely lightweight, hollow crank arms manufactured with Shimano exclusive forging technology to achieve maximum rigidity. In addition, the Hollowtech II set has the right crank firmly connected to the axle, achieving an optimal balance between the highest rigidity and lowest weight.
