Sontronics HYPER capsule adds even more flexibility and versatility to the already popular STC-1 and STC-1S condenser microphones.
Simply unscrew the existing cardioid that comes as standard with the STC-1 and 1S microphone and replace with this HYPER capsule, instantly turning your cardioid mic into a hypercardioid model.
The hypercardioid capsule is ideal for situations where you need a much tighter pickup pattern than the cardioid, for example where you might want to record a single instrument within an ensemble and reduce ‘spill’ from the other vocalists or instrumentalists.
The HYPER capsule can be used on string, wind, brass or percussion instruments and is a favourite with drummers, especially for use on hi-hat. It is also possible to get superb results on acoustic guitar, solo strings within a trio or quartet, and piano.
