The British battleship Prince of Wales was the second ship of the King George V class. Shortly after its completion in March 1941, she was involved in the historic hunt for the German battleship Bismarck. In October, the Prince of Wales was sent to Singapore to reinforce the Armed Forces in the Far East in an expected attack by the Imperial Japanese Marine. Her short service time of just 9 months ended dramatically when it was intercepted by Japanese bombers in the so-called Battle of Malaya. The model shows the Prince of Wales in detail, the set also includes the two Japanese bombers of the type 96 “Nell” and Type 1 “Betty” for reproduction of the combat scene.
