The company was founded in 1938 by Ruggiero Cortellino with the name “Cortelgomma”, a small laboratory where shoes are produced whose soles are made using military truck tires and uppers obtained from military uniforms. Every day we produce a little more than ten pairs, which are sold to the nearest markets. Over the course of a few years, the daring and passion of its founder transformed the small factory into a company capable of producing hundreds of pairs a day, which were distributed throughout Italy. In 1983 the company became COFRA and currently it is managed by Mr. Giuseppe Cortellino, the son of its founder. This is when the process of internationalization of the company begins. Its continuous growth is the result of a wise business management, which has enabled it to become a leading company in the field of safety shoes, a brand recognized in Europe and throughout the world. From 2004 the range of products is gradually diversifying and expanding.
