There is a relay built-in the photocell and it will trigger a dry contact output for the gate opener while detecting an obstruction of the beam. The gate opener will reverse or stop as a safety feature when the photocell activates. Ideal design for indoor or outdoor use with a receiver max. Range of 20 m.
