Each blank is cut to a round shape and has its edge sealed with parrafin wax. Sapele has a reddish golden brown heartwood and often exhibits a wavy grain, while also having a uniform texture and nice natural luster. Botanical name Entandrophragma Cylindricum, sapele can be prone to tearout due to its interlocking grain and, like oak, can discolour after having direct contact with iron. Glues and finishes well.
