Question: How tight does it fit the 14 ga? would a 12 ga wire fit in these?
Answer: lawnmower cable connector fits for 22-14 AWG Cables. Just make sure you squeeze them hard enough.
Question:Do you need a specific crimping tool for this or can you just use pliers?
Answer:Standard pliers work just fine. You don’t need to strip the ends of the wires, just insert them into the connector and squeeze the connector shut with your pliers.
Question:can this connector be used with 3 core cable ie with an earth wire？
Answer:They are designed for two core cables but you can use two connectors to satisfy your requirement ie a separate connector for your earth wire.
By wrapping the wires with dielectric grease before connecting them, you can connect up to 3 wires without corrosion.
