The Vaessen Creative Florence watercolour paper is a high-quality paper and makes an ideal base for painting, drawing, sketching and creating stunning artwork.
The paper sheets have a thickness or weight of 300 Grams per Square Meter or GSM. The hot-pressed watercolour paper has a fine-grained, smooth surface, with no tooth. Thanks to the smooth surface finish the sheets are perfect to use for both wet or dry watercolour techniques and are especially easy to work on with brush pens or ink. Paint dries very quickly on this cardstock paper, making it ideal for large, even washes of one or two colours. Multiple layers of washes are ill-advised as the smooth surface could buckle with too many layers on it.
Use paint, brush pens, markers, pencils, fine liners, crayons and ink on the watercolour sheets. Metallic or chalk pens make highly visible creations on darker paper like these black sheets. To create a painting with sublime colours and effects on this black paper you will need to use paint, ink or gouache that is not transparent but has some opacity.
Vaessen Creative Florence Watercolour Paper is suitable for professional artists and crafters of all ages. The sheets can be easily cut down to size if you’re working on a smaller project like postcards for example.
The durable paper is made out of 100% cellulose fibre pulp from controlled wood sources. The paper is also acid and lignin free, meaning it is more durable and won’t yellow.
Depending on which painting technique or project you’re working on, a different kind of paper weight, colour and size might be more preferable. Florence Watercolour Paper is also available separately in various other colours, sizes, thicknesses and surface finishes.
